Five instructors will be available to instruct the L2C this season. We will be accepting 10 participants so 2 per instructor on the ice which will allow for safe physical distancing. Ideally the 2 participants will be from the same "social bubble".
We are planning to offer this course again within a safe environment. We are working at designing a course of action which will be outlined once indoor sport & safety guidelines are established. Information will be posted on this website and our Facebook group - Pembroke Curling Centre for members and friends.
The Adult Learn to Curl course, for individuals 18+, was run every Sunday from 5-6:45 pm beginning in the fall for 10 weeks. We may reschedule the day and time once plans are in place for reopening. Right now Saturdays from 9-11 AM is a strong possibility.
We have certified trainers to help you learn the basics of this great sport. If you have physical restrictions, we have trained instructors to help you learn to use a delivery stick. At the end of this course you will be able to propel a rock down the ice, brush effectively, know the rules of the game and be able to play the game at a novice level. You will have the chance to play different positions: lead, second, third and skip and understand the requirements of each position. You will then be able to move on to almost any league after Christmas. The Sunday Night Rookie League has been a favourite place for our most recent graduates & it will run on Sunday evenings. You can check out the rest of the leagues under the menu item CURLING-Leagues.
The registration form for 2020-21 will be available at the end of the summer. You will be able to register and pay online. In the past this course has filled up quickly so contact me to be on a list. Due to Covid-19 fewer participants will be accepted to ensure safety and physical distancing.
The Pembroke Curling Centre thanks the Ottawa Valley Curling Association for their continued support of this program.
